RupeeVault is built with privacy as the core principle. Your financial data never leaves your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information to any servers.
What Data We Access
SMS Messages (Read-Only)
RupeeVault requires permission to read SMS messages to automatically detect bank transactions. Here's what you need to know:
- We only scan SMS from known bank sender IDs (like HDFCBK, SBIINB, ICICIB, etc.)
- Personal messages are never read - we filter by sender ID before processing
- All processing happens locally on your device
- SMS content is never transmitted to any external server
What We DO NOT Collect
- ❌ Your personal identity or contact information
- ❌ Your bank account numbers or card details
- ❌ Your transaction history
- ❌ Your SMS messages (personal or bank)
- ❌ Your location data
- ❌ Any usage analytics or tracking data
Data Storage
All your financial data is stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted local database. This data includes:
- Parsed transaction records (amount, date, merchant, category)
- Your custom categories and preferences
- Bill reminder schedules
We have no servers that store user data. We literally cannot access your information even if we wanted to.
Data Deletion
When you uninstall RupeeVault, all your data is permanently deleted from your device. There are no backups on any server because we don't have access to your data in the first place.
Third-Party Services
RupeeVault does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any data with third parties because we don't collect any data to share.
No Internet Required
RupeeVault works 100% offline. The app does not require an internet connection to function, which means your data cannot be transmitted even accidentally.
Open Source
Our SMS parsing algorithms are open source and available for security review. You can verify exactly what data we access and how we process it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
